Check the NEW Weekly Planning Guides for K-5. They are already aligned with the COMMON CORE and good to go for the start of the 2017-2018 school year. Click on the tab to check them out.
**Please note that implementation varies from school to school. These are not cookie cutter planning guides, but meant to be shared as something you modify as needed. Use what helps you....disregard what does not. :) Standards are referred to as AKS - which is the Gwinnett County designation and is Common Core aligned.
Math Planning Guides 2017 – 2018 are at the bottom of the page.

We embed and incorporate best instructional practices in our mathematics instruction in all grades K-5. We work together as grade level teams with our math support staff to plan, implement, and assess our instructional practices. Our Planning Guides build on the Common Core and our state's Mathematics Calendar and expands to integrate additional components. The grade level Planning Guides include:
Common Core Mathematics Standards
State Unit Recommendations
Instructional Pacing Guides per each week of a unit
Essential Questions per each week of a unit
Weekly Problem Solving through Exemplars, Hands on Standards, Super Source, and Math Literature aligned with standards
Local School Problems of the Month – incorporated through monthly math newsletters
Calendar Preview/Review pacing
Assessment (weekly/cumulative through TOTD Assessments and Common Unit Assessments)
Local School Weekly Grade Level Staff Development Schedule
GCPS Math/Science Staff Development Schedule
GCPS System-wide Assessment Schedule
Here are the 17 - 18 guides for the entire year. Collaboratively created by NES Math Vertical Team, K. Spruiell and C. Sauders. Thanks for your patience.
